Happy Birthday to my Baby.

It kind of hurts my heart that my BABY turned 5 this week.

I think of all the things I am done experiencing and I can't believe how fast it has gone by.

No more diaper, bottles, first words, learning to walk even the preschool days will be over soon.

As sad as this is, No I don't need another one.

Creed and I always say we ended with a bang with this kid of ours.

He is something else.

He is a Music loving, hip hop dancing, fashion sassy pants.

I wouldn't change one thing about him. Except his sweet tooth.

I like to put balloons in the kids bedroom so when they wake up its the first thing they see.

Since Jaxton's light is broke and his fan comes on when the light does we opted to put them in the hall.

At the end of each balloon we all wrote something we love about him.

For breakfast he requested his favorite; French toast.

After school I told him he could invite a friend and we would go to lunch.

What would a 5 year old request: McDonald's of course.

That night we had Cupcakes and Ice cream.

He was thrilled about his "Cake".

He was hoping that none of the BYU fans would eat it so he could have more.

I am in Love with this kid.

When I was putting my Christmas decorations away, I was having a hard time putting my center piece away that I had made. So I left it out and made it into a Valentines Decoration.

I made this necklace for my Sister in Law for her birthday.

BRIDAL SHOWER GIFT

My adorable niece is getting married next month so yesterday my Mother in Law had a bridal shower for her. It was a Shower of Firsts. On the invitations everyone was given a "First" (Christmas, lunch, kitchen, etc) and you brought a present to go with it. Yes, I requested mine and if you know me you know exactly what one I wanted. First Night together.

Date Night

I have a dear sister who I adore. ( Don't get me wrong, I adore them all but we will talk about one certain sister) This sister of mine thought she would try to double the population by having as many kids as she could squeeze out of that tiny body of hers. OK OK so 6 kids isn't THAT many though we do like to tease her. I for one can't keep my 4 straight I can't image adding 2 more to the mix. It could be because she has a whole lot of mouths to feed one of the reasons she is one of the best mothers I know. She amazes me.

One of the things she does to spend more quality one on one time with their kids is once a month either her or her hubby takes a kid on a date. Just the 2 of them. (I think its also because they forget which kid is which so its a good time to learn their name and such)

I have wanted to do this for such a long time but have been putting it off.

Finally I had to take KC's new motto: Stop saying and start doing,

into action. So Saturday me and Mike went and saw Sherlock Holmes. We had such a good time eating chili cheeseburgers and popcorn. And watching the show together. I really wish I had started this years ago. Thanks for the idea Beck!

Funny Kid of Mine

You know when your kids say or do things that crack you up and you think I need to write that down so I don't forget? I do it all the time. BUT I always forget to do it. My 9 year old has been on one lately.

Mike my 11 year old was telling Carter how me and him were going on a date. Carter responded with "Whatever Mike, mom is so out of your league."

The other day he came in my room to tell me that there is a mouse in the kitchen. When I asked him how he knew this he answered with, "Because I heard it scurry across the floor." What nine year old uses the word scurry?? I Don't even use this word. It's because he is a book worm. He is in the 4th grade and I am sure he is reading at a Jr. High level at the least and the books he reads are sometimes 400+ pages. He soaks up everything. Well the other morning I woke him up and 5 minutes later he comes in ready to go and this is what he says to me: "Mom you know when you are reading a book and you come to such a good part that you can't put it down, well that is what happened to me last night and when you woke me up I thought to myself Think about the book Carter, get out of bed, get ready and you can get back to reading." He kills me. Not only does this kid love to read but he is also a hip hop dancing fool. Turn on music and this kid can make up his own dances that are pretty dang good if I say so myself. He has been on youtube lately teaching himself head spins.

This kid of mine is pretty dang cool.

Although my favorite changes from day to day depending on their moods/helpfulness/who made me breakfast in bed. OK I'm kidding I don't have a favorite kid. I DO however have a favorite drink. And it would be this lovely.....

Peach Green Tea. I am a lover of Green Tea and this stuff makes it that much more heavenly. AND it is available in a fountain drink at my gas station. The best part is: 0 Calories and no Sugar. MMMMM.

Lets get something straight. I'm not doing this challenge because I think I'm a fabulous photographer. Just the opposite in fact. I have a nice camera and I NEVER use it anymore. It's actually quite sad. I'm doing this to try and get in the picture taking mood again AND to get myself to blog more often. So with that being said I know the pictures I am taking kinda suck but I really don't care.

Breakfast...

Mmmmm.

Today was perfect for a Breakfast photo, just because this breakfast is delicious.

I was planning on taking a picture of my family enjoying this great meal but being as the woke up around 11:00 the casserole is all I took.

This is French Toast Casserole courtesy of my friend Charity.

I will even be so nice and include the recipe.

1 loaf cinnamon bread or just a loaf of regular bread with cinnamon sprinkled on it cut into cubes and put into a sprayed pan.

8 oz. of cream cheese thinly sliced and added to bread.

In a bowl mix 8 eggs, 6 Tbsp. butter, 1/4 maple syrup and 2 1/2 cups milk.

Pour on top of bread and smash bread down with a fork so all the bread is covered.

Cover and let sit in the fridge overnight.

In the morning cook on 325 for 45 min.

So good.

My kids like to add more syrup to the top.

You can never have enough sugar.

(Believe me it tastes much better then it looks)

I was quite disappointed in my list.

Not just because it is short but because there isn't very many good ones on here. A lot were fast and easy.

And there were some that I bought for dirt cheap when Borders went out of business. Maybe I should have got a clue when they were still on the shelf even after they were marked way way down.

I put stars by the ones I recommend. 22 Britannis Road was my favorite of the year. And I love the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series but only read if you don't have a weak stomach and don't mind language and sex. Now what are your recommendations for me to read this year?

So yes it took me 7 months to do my 30 day Challenge and 7 of those I knocked out in one day. Pathetic I know. I had to finish it for a couple reasons though.

As I was looking through my pictures for this day I found these and realized I hadn't blogged about going to Colorado with my sisters to see our sister who lives there.

So sad!!

(Sad that I hadn't blogged it, not sad that we went)

So I am going to kill two birds with one stone because all these pictures make me smile as do all the pictures I have with my sisters.

Becki talked us into coming out in September to do the Dirty Girl Dash with her.

It was so much fun though Dash it was not.

It was a 5K with dirty obstacles along the way.

She was so cute and had these adorable shirts made for us the said

"Nutty Sisters" (being as our Maiden name is Nuttall) on the front and on the back it said Nutty Sister 3

(or whatever our birth order was)

Look how cute and Clean we are.

I really wish we would have taken a camera on the run with us.

I laughed so hard it hurt.

My favorite part was the Mud wrestling we did at the end.

After you could donate your shoes to a woman's shelter.

I'm sexy and I know it.

Besides the race we had a good time just being together.

I know I have said it before but I couldn't image my life without these girlies.

Out of all the projects I have done, this one turned out to be my favorite.

I found it on pinterest of course where it led me to this Site...

It was so easy to do.

I spray painted some wine bottles white, then sprayed them with adhesive and rolled them in Epsom salt.

Headed to the trusty Hobby Lobby and got some decor to stick in the bottles and Wahla!

As I was taking Christmas down today (yes I am THAT person) I couldn't back it away.

I am going to hang some snow flakes or something from the light above to make it look wintery, then something for Valentines. I figure I can keep it up until at least March.

Yes, Christmas is in ONE week and I am blogging about Thanksgiving.

Just another reason to remind me my life is so unorganized at the moment.

This year the Hansen family packed up their vehicles and went to my BIL's family cabin.

We all had a ball sledding, snowboarding, playing the XBOX, pool, eating and talking.

I'm sure you've probably heard of this fabulous website called Pinterst. I am just a new convert to it but I am will be the first to admit I am ADDICTED. My husband will agree. What you probably don't know though is I came up with this years ago. Though mine looked something like this....

It consisted of me ripping out pages from magazines and sticking them in a book and never getting to them. With pinterest though, I have already done a whole list of things. If you haven't checked it out you need to get with it. It's fabulous.

A Boy and his Stick

Since KC was 8 years old he has played competitive baseball. He would play basketball and football in the off season to pass the time but we were an all out Baseball family. Most nights and Saturdays we could be found at the ball park. For the last 4 years his team planned their trip to Cooperstown. And when we went it was the most amazing experience. But when we got home his team of 4 years broke up. I am not going to lie it was extremely difficult for me and I am just the mom. When KC told Creed he still wanted to play and he still wanted his Dad to coach, he agreed. But by the time the fall season was starting they still were short a couple players. It was decided he would play with his Uncle Ryan's team who coaches the year up for the fall and they would get a team together for the Spring. After 3 games he told us he didn't want to do it. His heart wasn't in it anymore. When his Grandma told him he just couldn't quit on a team his response was "Why? My team did it to me." This was one of those moments in life my heart broke for my child. Even now 3 months later as I am writing this, I can't do it without tears in my eyes. So we told him he could take the fall off. A week later a Dad in our neighborhood approached Creed and told him to have KC come to Lacrosse practice to see if he liked it. When he came home after that first time he couldn't wipe the grin off his face. He was hooked. He worked his butt off and did it with a smile, never complaining. Even on their weekly 3 mile runs. And he carried that dang stick everywhere. It still made me sad when Ryan would be short a player and ask KC if he wanted to play and every time he would tell him no. I really don't think he will ever pick up a bat again. As much as a baseball mom as I am, if he has found something he loves and wants to continue to do, I can't be anything but happy for him. (I just hope one day I understand the whole game). He is an amazing kid.

Halloween

October is one of my favorite months of the year for so many reasons...

*The weather getting chilly.

BUT, I am not going to lie.

This year sucked.

I think it just went by way to fast and I didn't get to do anything I wanted to do with the kids.

And the worst was for sure Halloween.

Sunday night KC and Carter started throwing up.

Monday morning J joined it.

Creed took work off to stay with the sick kiddos while I went to work...

For an hour before I went home to join to sick crew.

I did manage one picture with my adorable friend Julie before heading home to my puke bowl.

That night the kids all insisted they were just fine and talked Creed into letting them go Trick-or-Treating. I on the other hand stayed on the couch wishing for death.

And this was the only picture I got the whole night...

By the time I realized I hadn't taken a single picture the boys were in no way going to get their costumes back on. Sad. This is the first time in 12 years no pictures on a holiday.

So Halloween was a Bust.

And by the end of the week 10 out of the 11 people living here had had the terrible flu bug.

Can we PLEASE do October over???

School Days....

Yes, I am well aware that school started months ago but we all know how I suck at blogging and since I am pretty sure I have a total of 4 people that read my blog, I think I'm OK.

Years ago when I would hear people say "Enjoy your kids they grow up before you know it." I would think oh brother, they don't grow up that fast but boy was I wrong.

How did I become the mother of a 12 year old so fast?

And in 7th grade.

JUNIOR HIGH!

I remember 7th grade like it was yesterday.

Meeting some of my Best friends (who are still some of my best friends today)

My first "real" kiss.

The dances and sleepovers.

Mr. Jonas. (what a punk)

The 30 minute bus drive it would take to get to school.

Realizing I was never going to understand math.

Now I get to experience the stress my parents went through.

Though I don't think I put them through that much .

You'll do awesome KC.

It's crazy to think next year I will have not only have 1 but 2 in Junior High.

Next year I might need to up my medication.

It's a good thing I was blessed with such awesome boys.

Mikey the only down fall for you is you are so much like your Mother I hope we don't strangle each other before you hit 7th grade.

Carter I hope you always have your love of reading.
It's so nice to be able to threaten you that I will take your books away.
You're only in 4th but reading bigger books then I do.

I am not a Mom that cries when school starts back up.
I am the Mom on the first day that slows the car down just enough that the kids won't get hurt when they jump out all the while yelling "FREEDOM"!
BUT
this year I must admit I got a little teary eyed.
With a kid in Junior High and my baby in Preschool it sucked.
When I dropped KC off he gave me the biggest hug and said
"Mom, will you stop worrying. I am going to be fine."
And this little dude has been so excited to go to school like his brothers he could hardly stand it.
I love these kiddos.

Now if I can just get back to exercising every day my family might want to keep me. :)

This incredible lady or GG as my kids called her. (Great Grandma)

Growing up we lived 5 minutes away.

We would spend countless weekends at Grandma and Grandpa's while my mom and dad went out of town.

She was hilarious and I remember countless times laughing so hard I cried.

Even in her last days she was still cracking jokes.

She was my 3rd grade spelling teacher.

I always tell Creed if we have half as good of a marriage as these two did we will be set.

I love Halloween.

The main reason is I love to see what Costume Creed comes up with.

And the only reason he dresses up is for The Annual Oefinger Halloween Party.

This is a Rockin Party that our Good friends Charity and Terence have every year.

This year the Girls decided to have a Katy Perry Costume contest. I am not going to lie, at first I wasn't excited about the though of dressing like her. Then I saw this outfit....

I knew my handyman could make one for me!

Sooo.... yes I went to the party in a Bra.

Creed actually got the cans of whip cream to stay with a whole lot of glue, tape and string.. But they didn't last too long.

Family Reunion

A couple weekends ago my and my sisters (minus Becki) went to my dad's family reunion with him and had a blast. We went to Boulder Utah which I am going to be honest I never knew existed.

It was beautiful.

We went four wheeling, fishing, talked and Laughed.

(I laughed especially hard when my dad lit Missy's pants on fire)

He is a fourteen year old in a four year old body.

When we were at his Preschool open house filling out his questionnaire I asked what his favorites song was.

There was a song on the radio and I asked the boys who it was, it was my four year old who informed me that it was Bruno Mars and Emenim.

He cracks me up.

My usual answer to these questions is my hubby and kids so I can't use them anymore.

So this answer would be these lovely ladies whom I have had the pleasure of knowing all of my life.

You would think that since we are all only 2 years apart we would be the best of friends growing up.

But oh how that was not the case.

Some of my fondest memories include: Being chased with knives and boogers, being tape recorded while we fought, fighting over clothes and cobbler, getting the wind knocked out of me, fist fights and hair pulling.

As adults our relationships haven't been all peaches and cream either but as we have grown I believe our friendship have too.

These 3 are some of my best friends.

Half Marathon

It all started around the beginning of June. A friend asked me if I wanted to run the Lehi City 5K, I thought why not. I absolutely hate running BUT It's only 3 miles.

And my weight wasn't just falling off from sitting on my A after 15 years.

So I started running everyday.

And a funny thing happened...

I started to enjoy it. I looked forward to getting up and running while the sun came up. Just me and my music and my thoughts.

I did the 5k. And I lived.

Next my crazy friends asked if I wanted to do a half Marathon with them. At first I laughed at them.

Then I started thinking about it. I have been running, if I sign up I will HAVE to do it.

And I can say I did it.

So I continued to run. I was still dragging my feet about signing up though because just the thought of doing it would make me hyperventilate. Then my dear friend Melinda who had signed up hurt her foot.

There was no way she was running on that thing. So I told her I would take her place.

It was me and Charity.

I'm not going to lie.

It kicked my trash. By mile 11 I was in tears. I wanted it to be OVER with. What had I gotten myself into?

I sucked it up and kept running. Then I turned the corner to the end and saw my hubby and 2 of my besties and their hubbies cheering me on. And I really lost it. Especially when Melinda and Charity crossed the finish line with me. What amazing friends I have.

And I can proudly say I DID IT!!

New York Part 1

I'm late posting.

Surprised?

I thought not.

We have been planning for this trip for 4 years, ever since KC's Tiger team started so you would have thought I would have been prepared and ready for it but of course I wasn't. It still kinda snuck up on us.

As much as we wanted to take to whole family, it just wasn't possible.

Luckily for us they had their second family to stay home with.

We flew into Buffalo around midnight where we learned that the airline had lost Creed's bag with all the coaching stuff in it. He was not a happy camper. Out of all the luggage to lose and was not the one.

We then headed to pick up our car were we found out that our reservation had been canceled.

Dealing with this at any time is a nightmare, but because it was in the wee hours of the morning made it that much worse. After figuring that out we jumped in our car and drove 2 hours to Palmyra.

The next day we went to the Smith Farm and the Sacred Grove.

There was such a peaceful feeling there.

We then went to Hill Cumorah where they were setting up for the pageant.

The next day before heading to Cooperstown we stopped at the Whitmore Farm.

I'm not going to lie... I have really struggled with this Day 6,

My first thought was just to post a naked picture of me because that would for sure be my true self in all my glory. But I didn't want to lose any of my 3 friends who read this. So I have been looking through my pictures and this is what I have come up with:

Being as it is our Anniversary I thought I would do Day 10 today.

That would be my amazing hubby of 14 years.

We got married at the oh so young age of 18 without a penny to our name.

We have had our share of ups and downs but wouldn't trade them for anything.

It wasn't long after we started dating that I knew he was a keeper, he was unlike anyone I had meet before.

Hmmmm....... A habit you wish you didn't have.

Lets see,

I do have a bad habit of cussing.

There is just some things that can only be expressed with a swear word right?

Once my kids told me I needed to stop swearing, I told them they could choose:

a) Allow mommy a swear word here or there

b) I could start beating them.

Both are excellent stress relievers.

They picked A.

(I'm kidding. I wouldn't beat my kids)

There is also my bad habit of hitting my snooze button one too many times...

Every night I set my alarm for 4:30 am with the best of intentions to go to the gym at 5:00.

If it weren't for the $%#( snooze button, it may just happen more often then it does.

Who am I kidding.

It probably wouldn't.

I have a bad habit of walking outside bare foot.

I HATE wearing shoes outside.

Which is funny because I can't stand to be barefoot inside.

Maybe that's why my feet are the most disgusting, cracked things you will ever see.

BUT..

I am going to have to say that the habit I wish I didn't have was yelling.

I am a yeller.

I try not to be.

I really do.

My poor kids, it's no wonder they never listen to me when I ask them to do something

it's because they can't understand me when I am talking normal.

I really hope I am not the only person in the whole world who does this.

I do have to stop though.

Now that the weather is getting warmer, the windows get opened.

I really don't want the neighborhood to hear my bad habit.

Day 3... Your Craziest Friend

If I were to be arrested one day for something wild and crazy most likely the person that would be sitting next to me would be my MOST CRAZY FRIEND my little sister Missy Moo Moo.

She is amazing.

It's funny because we are only 2 years apart and for almost our whole life we haven't gotten along.

Weekend Update

W My sister does a Weekend Update on her blog every week and since she lives so far away I love to see what they are up to. I keep telling myself I need to do it but always forget so I am so proud of myself for remembering!! YEAH ME!! Also TWO posts in one day?? What is the world coming too?

So Friday when I got home from work the house was eerily quite. That was because Creed had loaded the boys up and went to the Father and Sons camp out for the night. A whole night to myself?? What is a girl to do? I thought dinner and a movie with a good friend sounded about right.

We went and ate here:

I really like this place but Creed hates it so I have to go when I am not with him.

Next we went and saw this:

The boys had baseball games Saturday morning so they came home late Friday night. Saturday was of course filled with baseball games and house cleaning.

I adore these boys.

(Not just these 4 but all 11 of them)

They have been together for over 4 years.

What a great bunch of kids.

There is nothing Mike hates more then spending his Saturdays at the ball park.

What a good sport!

Friday night we went to dinner with our Friends the Evans.

Sunday was spent relaxing.

Me and the boys went for a walk while Creed cleaned up dinner.

Day 2... A really good Memory

Day 2 is a Picture of a really good memory. I have been pulling Good memories from the corner of my mind for the last 2 days. There is oh so many which for me is a really good sign for a couple reasons.

#1: My memory sucks.

#2: It means I have awesome people in my life to help me create these good memories.

(It said A memory, but how is a girl to choose one?)

I obviously have Oh so many memories of growing up in a pretty cool family.

One of my favorite memories was once we were trying to have family pray but we were laughing way to hard to do it. I don't remember what we were laughing at but it was pretty darn funny. And it was even funnier because my Dad was getting so mad at us. It was then I realized God for sure had a sense of humor.

I have tons of Memories of School Days (or skipping school days) with my amazing friends whom I am so grateful are STILL on my speed dial.

(Yes cell phones have speed dials)

I have countless memories of the 2 years we lived in California and the life time friendships we made there.

When we moved back home it was so strange not to eat at least one meal a day with someone and I had to get used to watching my favorite TV shows BY MYSELF. No more pool parties, BBQ's or boating outings. It's a good thing I took pictures of EVERYTHING.

I have endless memories of the last 16 years with this crazy bunch.

Living next to these people can make for some awesome memories both good and bad.

(More so good then the bad)

Then there are these people:

So you know how most woman don't like their pictures taken? They try to hide when the camera comes out or they say "You all get in the picture, I'll take it" ?? Well that is so not me. When I see a camera come out, I wipe under my eyes to make sure there is no mascara smudges, fluff my hair a bit, then tilt my head to the right. I LOVE getting my picture taken. It even kinda bugs when I am taking pictures of everyone and no one well grab the &%$@ camera so I can be in ONE shot. (Yes kids I DID go on that vacation with you I just can't prove it since I am not in a single picture) This doesn't mean the next time you see me you need to grab your camera and take my picture.... actually it does.

The Perfect Day

One of the many reasons I love my job is because it's not full time. I get Wednesdays off and it's oh so nice. Last week I spent the whole day cleaning, scrubbing, washing and anything else to make my house shine. BUT while I was doing this I was also putting off playing with an adorable 4 year who all he wanted was for me to go outside with him so he could ride his scooter. My all day reply was "When I get the house done we will." Well laying in bed that night the guilt came pouring on. My cute 4 year old was snug in his bed sleeping without getting to go outside once to ride his scooter while his mom watched. I felt like the crappiest mom ever. When he woke up I begged him to forgive me and promised him that the following Wednesday I wouldn't clean once and we would spend the whole day doing whatever he wanted. He was pumped. Every morning for the next week he would ask if it's Wednesday yet. That day I prepared my self for the worst things a 4 year old could pick: The zoo, McDonald's, swimming: so when he picked the things he did I was awed by the simplicity of a 4 year old. How he just wanted to hang out with his mom.

We walked to the park.

Played on the playground and played tag.

On the way home we stopped at Harts and he picked out gum.

We went to Burger King to get his free Kids meal.

We played baseball and did side walk chalk.

He rode his scooter and did tricks while I cheered him on.

To end the day he wanted a picnic.

He got it all ready himself:

An orange

2 bananas

2 pop tarts

and 2 doughnuts.

It was the perfect ending to a perfect day.

It was a real eye opener for me.

It made me realize I need to take advantages of these days every chance I get.

It won't be long before instead of riding in this:

Discovery Museum....

A few things about me.

#1- I'm cheap.

#2. - I hate people.

(OK not so much people but large crowds of people)

Because of these two reasons we have only been to the Children's Discovery Museum once.

But when Mike brought home a coupon that admitted 6 people in for free I thought it wouldn't kill me to try to be a good Mom and take the kids. Luckily my MIL agreed to venture out with us.

Of course we picked the same day 2 large school groups decided to go.
Since it was free I didn't feel bad at all that we couldn't stay very long because of baseball games.
The boys had a good time and I didn't beat any kids (namely other peoples. Not my own.)

Happy Belated to my little man. I guess I can't really call him little man anymore since he's 9 and all.

How come they get so old so fast?? Carter is obsessed with Sharks so Saturday morning by sweet sister Jenni who is a pro at making cakes spent the morning making this form him. How cute is that?

He really wanted to go to Jump on It with his friends so we loaded up and braved the crowd. It really wasn't that bad. They only get to jump for an hour which isn't a bad thing.

Afterwards we went back to the house for pizza, cake and presents.

Of course that Sunday he had the family over for cake and ice cream,

A tradition they love.

Viva Las Vegas

I'm a little late posting but that's OK. Better late then never. A couple weekends ago we took a quick couples trip to Vegas. It was short and sweet but we had such a good time. Everyone else left Friday morning but Creed and I couldn't leave until Friday night cause of work. We got there late that night just in time for some jumping on the bed and a wee bit of gambling. Saturday was spent at the pool, shopping, relaxing and eating. The best things in life. And Sunday we headed home.

Today I was looking at all the projects in my craft closet that need to be done, trying to think of a good day to finish them. Then I had a brilliant idea; why not now. The ironing will definitely still be sitting there tomorrow just like it has been for the last 3 weeks. So I got busy. By the end of the day I hope to have finished 7ish projects. I will let you know how they turn out.

For our monthly get together, Trish & Clay had a "High School Valentines Dance" at their house. These our are our sweet DI outfits. My dress was $5.00 whole dollars. Not bad for something I won't wear again. (Unless someone has a prom)

You had to start with the coconut between your bellies and get it to your mouth without touching it.

For Valentines I had our annual Candle light/Take out Dinner. It's a fun tradition that the kids love because they get a Valentines Present on their plate.

Last week this cute boy of mine turned 12!

Where has the time gone!! He really is such a good kid.

Their first task was to count a bag of change and come up with the correct answer. You'd think this would be easy but it was probably the most difficult thing they did the whole race.

Next, their whole team had to sing a song on the Lips game with a passing score. These boys could sure shake their stuff.

Their next clue was to go to the Home of the 13U Tigers which was across the street at Creed's brother Ryan's house where they had to either: Each person on the team had to make a free throw shot and a snow angel or they had to paint their nails... They all painted their nails.

Next, they had to go to the Building with the slide coming out of it, (which they all knew was the Legacy Center) find the Princess and sing to her.

The princess then gave them this clue:

One team got it. The other two teams were trying to figure out what made them happy.

They decided McDonald's made them happy so they went there asking people for clues. After some time one team texted the picture to a parent and got the answer, the other team took a penalty and asked their driver. When they finally got to WALMART, they had to take 5 different pictures with 5 different people giving a thumbs up. Then they had to buy a treat to bring back to the house.

After Walmart their driver gave them a clue that said:

Go to KC's mom's husband's brother's daughter's cousin's dad's mom's.

They ended up at Kimball's grandma's

where they had to run around a broom 20 times, then run back to our house.

The boys had a blast and their only complaint was that it wasn't long enough.

*On a side note I am really not biased to this winning team.

They just had the only pictures that weren't blurry.

In the middle of our house mess, this cute boy of mine had a birthday. It is so crazy to me how fast the last 4 years have gone by. He sure is a blessing and makes our family complete.

4 Things About my 4 year old:

1. He LOVES Dora.

He asked me one day why he can't marry her. I had to sit him down and gently break the news that it wasn't that she was Mexican because we certainly aren't racist. It's because she's a cartoon.

2. He is my cuddle bug. He knows I can't resist when he says

"Mom lets just watch Dora and cuddle".

3. He is a crack up just like his older brother Carter.

Whenever I get mad or after him for something he says

"Mom, why would you want to do that to your BABY"?

4. He loves Gogurts, chicken nuggets, all things Toy Story,

his brothers and unfortunately the Utes.

Up Came the Floor

So Up the floor came. We spent a Friday night ripping that bad boy up. My poor boys and a few blisters and band aids to show off their hard work and manliness.

Of course they were goofy in the process as well.

I am not going to lie. Living on sub flooring, eating out almost everyday (unless our awesome family fed us) not having a washer and having to use other peoples (Though I won't complain that they would dry and fold it for me) SUCKED.

The day was going quite well. I had finished cleaning the house, J and I where taking our time enjoying Costco, we where just checking out when my phone rang. It was Creed. UMMM where are you? The boys just called and said there is water all over the house. $%&@!! I called Ryan and asked him please to go make sure my house wasn't under water. (Another plus leaving by family) When I got home it didn't look THAT bad. Only 342 wet towels and water coming through the basement. So much for my good day. Something in my washer malfunctioned and all the water came a pouring out. Creed wanted to get it checked out so the Restoration company came to survey the damage. We lived with 19 blaring fans for 3 days. IT. SUCKED. BAD.

Snow Storms and Crazy Neighbors

Another post I forgot to post.

We woke up to see that the world had been turned white.

Or at least our neck of the woods got dumped on.

I was just about to get on the Treadmill when Kayla came in and said
"Teresa is out there building a snowman with Koy and KC.

Ummm.... she can NOT get Mother of the Year award Thank you. I've been working extra hard for that title. So I threw on a sweat shirt and gloves and out I went. The snowman was forgotten about. It became one intense snowball fight. Even Shalece and Brody joined. There was faces pushed in the snow, handfuls of coldness shoved down pants, snowballs aimed at heads. It was the best work out I have had in a long time. Another reason I love having my crazy family as neighbors.

Anyway when Becki was in town her In-laws rented Noahs so we got to go Ice Skating.

(We even braved the horrible storm just to be there... another reason I am her favorite sister)

I just wanted to inform my 3 readers that I am in fact still alive. I told you I couldn't commit to a New Year's Resolution of blogging more. But this time I have good reasons to neglect my daily journaling. We have been forced to Remodel thanks to my front loader washer flooding my house and I started a new job last week. I will give you details in a day. Or two.

Friday Favorite

A couple of months ago my sweet sister asked me if I had a subscription to Food and Family. I told her no and didn't think about it again. That is UNTIL last week when it showed up in my mailbox. The day I got it I read it twice. It is SPECTACULAR!

I've also been carrying it around in my purse just in case I end up at the store and want to use one of the recipes. Not only are the recipes super yummy (I made three of them this week) they are easy. Most of the ingredients you will have stocked all ready. The picture of the cake above: Soo GOOD.

Books I read in 2010

When I was in the 5th grade there was a book reading fundraiser. What is a book reading fundraiser you might ask (though I hope you didn't because its pretty self explanatory) It meant I could read my little heart out and raise money for the school. I was so excited and in the end I raised more money (97.50) and read more books (65) then anyone in the school. Yeah ME! There was an assembly to hand out awards and I remember how proud I was to walk up and get my certificates. (Yes I still have them) That was until I could hear people saying what a liar I was and that there was no way anyone could read that many books. I was devastated. I wanted to kick them in the head because there is to a way to read that many books. Have your nose stuck in them as a kid like I did.
Now as an adult I still love to read and I love to keep a list of the books I read each year so I can try to beat it the following year. My Hubby thinks I am a dork when I post the list on my blog but he should have realized he married one.

This is the first New Years Eve since Creed and I were dating that we didn't spend it with his family. Crazy right. Instead we rang in the New Year with some of our other favorite people. We went to Melinda and Rusty's and partied like it was 1999. We sang and danced our hearts out and got home around 3:00. Thanks for another great night Telford's!

What's in Store for the New Year

I for one am NOT a fan of New Year's Resolutions. Take for example the Rec center I am a member of and which I am employed at. I have gone every morning for over a year ( OK FINE since Jess will probably end up reading this I can't lie. I don't go every morning though I have good intentions too.) But that's totally not the point. The point is Don't wait until the first of the year to start to exercise because it makes me mad when I am trying to find a treadmill or even a bike for that matter and there is nothing!! I know I just have to be patient because by March resolutions are out the window anyway. Don't get me wrong, everyone needs Goals, I for one just think they should be practiced year round and not just at the start of the year. IF I did write down resolutions though it would probably look something like this:

1. Stop procrastinating.

2. Finish what I start. (don't those go hand in hand)

3. Get closer to being out of debt.

4. Be nice to everyone. Even when I fell like punching someone in the face.

5. Make my bed everyday. (It should be easy but for some reason its not)

6. Stop stressing about every little possible thing. ( My hubby would put this at the top of my list)

7. SAVE

8. Update me blog daily. (OK we know that's not going to happen)

9. Stop swearing (I have a better chance at completing #8)

10. Eat better.

Christmas

Remember as a kid the excitement of Christmas?? The month of December DRAGGED on, and Christmas Eve seemed like an eternity! Now a days December is gone in the blink of an eye. It's so sad. This year was no exception and Christmas was here in no time. We had told the boys they couldn't come upstairs until 8:00 thinking they wouldn't take us serious at all. So when we still hadn't heard from the by 7:30 I had to go get them. They weren't too happy.

I am thinking Mikey liked what he got.

The only thing J wanted was the Buzz wings that pop out.

Kayla came to visit us and was here for Christmas.

After opening presents we went to my MIL's for breakfast and more presents.

It was a good day.

Grandpa's Grave

Every Christmas Eve, Creed's family meets at his Dad's grave to light candles and sing Christmas songs. It's a simple tradition but definitely one of our favorites.

We sure miss this man.
